 Effective Fundraisers

Just wondering what everyone else does. Our big fundraiser is the kick-0ff classic. The weekend before football practice starts, we rent out a bar (owners are Alumns...doesn\'t actually cost us anything) and serve food and drink at a set price. We have raffles and sell t-shirts. This weekend, I heard one school raises $15,000/year selling mulch. What do you all do?

Here\'s one that is interesting (but possibly gambling) from someone on the DW forum:

We have those darn sweepstakes tickets for NFL games. If you don\'t know, I\'ll explain it -

You\'re sold a ticket for 10 bucks. The ticket has 10 weeks worth of prizes. Each week, you\'re given 3 NFL teams, at random. If the combined total of all 3 teams score is the highest, you win - but there are more ways to win as well. The ticket pays out - weekly -

Highest

2nd Highest

3rd Highest

4th Highest

5th Highest

6th Highest

3rd Lowest

2nd Lowest

and Lowest Point total - every week!

Now that I know the inside scoop, it might LOOK like you\'re a guaranteed winner, but it\'s really a 10:2500 ratio, winners to possible ticket cmobinations in a week. It sells like HOTCAKES, and we bring in about 12G\'s from it.

Dunno if that link will give you a ton of info, but give it a try.

Now, I\'ll be able to find out more tonight at our league meeting, but if you want to, go to our website, and e-mail the fundraising coordinator. She has all of the answers.

www.macombmustangs.com Then, click on the fundraising tab. Give her my name, and she\'ll send you whatever you need. It really is great - and you\'re able to check your scores online, instead of having to watch Sportscenter........

Here is a new program that provides your team with its own web cast channel.

You will now have the ability to upload, view, edit, and create game films so that your team can see them at any time. Here are some of the applications:

• Upload previous week’s game for viewing by athletes and parents;
• Create highlight videos for end of season banquet
• Create videos of players for college recruiters, online
• Create instructional videos for your team
• All teams, youth through varsity, will want to get involved
• Convert old VHS tapes to digital video and upload and view them
• You are only limited by your imagination.

The best thing about this service is the price: as low as $9.95 a month. Here are some of the program features:

Maxcast™ – share your videos online

Although most people have libraries of videos, whether personal or professional, many are stumped about how to actually share their wealth of video. Maxcast™ is the newest, easiest, and most effective way to share all your videos online.
Maxcast offers the highest-quality video experience available using the same patent-pending technology that major networks use to broadcast their programming online. Maxcast.com is a video website that lets you share or broadcast your videos through public or private environments. The site allows you to edit videos to create new clips and custom video channels. Whether you are sharing videos for personal use or broadcasting business content to worldwide audiences, Maxcast is your video solution.

Preserve your videos forever!

Your valuable video content is deteriorating with the passing years. The only way to permanently preserve your videos is by digitizing them and storing them electronically. The fast and reliable way to get your video digitized is with our Video SaverSM service. Simply send your traditional videos to our Digital Imaging Lab, where they are carefully converted to digital videos and saved in your account. Once converted, your videos are also available to publish in your own online video channel at Maxcast.com.

Organize your videos with ease!

You can name and attach a description to each video available in your Maxcast channels. Grouping your videos into categories makes them easy to find by you and others. You can even edit your existing clips into smaller, custom segments ideal for sharing with specific viewers.

This video service is still under development, but will be available for fall 2007 seasons; perhaps even some spring sports as well. You will have the ability to upload your digital game films online at no cost, keep them in a storage folder on their server, edit and create movies to make your own productions.

For $9.95 a month you get 2 web cast video channels; for $24.95 a month you get 5 channels. One or more of these channels you can designate as “pay-per-view” channels meaning that people who wish to view the channel would pay for the air time. For example, an average football game video may last 30 minutes. The cost of ‘air time’ for that video would be around a dollar. By charging $1.99 or $2.99 (you get to set the price) to view the video, the team could pay for the air time and also put some money into a team fundraiser as well. People would also have the opportunity to order their own DVD from this service as well. You set the price of the DVD as well. At the average school this would amount to @ $200 a game X 10 games a season X the number of sports your school has would amount to $15 - $40K or more a year. Would that not be a big addition to your booster club’s coffers?

Think of it. Billy’s grandfather lives four states away and does not have a chance to see any of his games, but with this service not only can he see Billy score but also order a copy of the game as well. In both cases, money would flow into the team fundraiser.

Bottom line: not only would you be able to offer your team the latest in web cast video technology, with the pay per view and DVD’s for sale, you not only pay for the service but also make money for your team as well. The best of all possible worlds!

Every school and youth program in the country is a potential customer. We are looking for coaches who would like to work this part time and make a few hundred to a few thousand extra dollars a month for the family income. We are gearing up for an official launch this spring. To preview what is up now, go to http://www.maxcast.com/BFSfree and the home page http://www.maxcast.com . We busy developing a channel that will showcase some of the awesome capabilities.

Get back to me with your best contact phone numbers and time to call to discuss these matters further on how you can bring this service to your program, school and region. This will become the easiest fundraiser for schools, ever!
